On 1.1.2020 the Marine Industry will have to be ready for the landmark regulation passed by the International Maritime Organization regarding the control of SOx emissions from engines using marine heavy fuel. The regulations stipulate that 0.1% Sulfur or equivalent be used in Emission Control Areas (ECAs) and 0.5% sulfur fuel or equivalent be used globally. Using low sulfur distillates or the hybrid ECA fuels is very expensive. Use of LNG or biofuels has a limited coverage.
Industry leaders have said that the best option is to install a scrubber for the marine engine exhaust and ensure that emissions stay within the limits of the IMO regulations
Our unique and innovative patented design delivers superior scrubbing while being less in weight, having a lower foot print, and being much easier to install/ retrofit. Our scrubbers have been designed to eliminate the problems currently experienced by vertical scrubber users.
Our scrubber can work with the open loop, closed loop or hybrid options. There is high particulate matter removal from the exhaust. The exhaust from both the main engine and auxiliary engines can be scrubbed.
Viswa scrubber’s ground breaking design, ease of installation and use, smaller size and economics make the decision to install scrubbers an easy one. Viswa gives the assurance that each of our scrubbers will carry our trademark technical excellence and collaboration.
